5pm

The doctor just came in shortly ago to let us know that she would be free at 5pm to come talk to us. So, we wait until then to find out more. I am so thankful for so many family members and friends to be here and who will be here when that time comes. I know I will need lots of support then, no matter what the outcome. I’m nervous and anxious and impatient.

  1. Brad,
We are praying!! Our prayer (among many) is that God will be the anchor of your soul while you wait, and as you talk to the doctors.
I am a friend of Amy Stack’s and have been carrying you and your sweet family heavy on my heart as I have followed along at your blog about your sweet wife.
Our prayers and hearts are with you even though we have never met :)

  2. Praying right now, Brad. We’re nervous and anxious too, but trusting in God.

“Donít be afraid, for I am with you. Donít be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”

    Isaiah 41:10 NLT

  3. We are in constant prayer for you, Stephanie, Brady, & Halle. Nathan & I have been reflecting on what an amazing person Stephanie is and I think that you may be right about the seizures being of a spiritual realm. Stephanie has such a sweet spirit. We are praying for a miracle.

  4. Brad…

  5. Brad,
You don’t know me, but I just wanted to let you know that you are in my prayers! You & Stephanie’s story touches my heart in so many ways. The love you have not just for her but The Lord is amazing. She is one lucky women!! Just know that are inspiring to others as you go through this horrible ordeal.
Prayers for you & your family!!!

  6. Brad –
So many of us are praying. We are calling on everyone we can to pray with and for you… But even more we are calling on God to sustain you.

  7. Dear Brad,
Just got your blog address from an urgent prayer request from Jerry Stark via the NEOIN network. I am a prayer warrior and have been on the floor for you and Stephanie. I have been in your shoes and truly empathize with what you are going through. NEVER EVER EVER GIVE UP HOPE! God WILL be with you no matter what the outcome is here. NOTHING can change His perfect Will. Even when we don’t understand His will, He is ALWAYS GOOD. Isaiah 14:24 tells us “The Lord of hosts has sworn: ‘As I have planned, so shall it be, and as I have purposed, so shall it stand.'”

I, too, discern that this is spiritual in nature and I will continue to fight for you both in that realm.
Praying for His Peace to surround you as He draws close to you and Stephanie!
    Blessings!

  8. Breathe deeply and know that His plan is already written. Have faith in His love. I hope you find peace in the answers that lie ahead of you. With God nothing is impossible and His Grace can be amazing. Praying for a miracle.

  9. Brad, God is listening to every single prayer lifted up to Him about you, Stephanie, Brady, and Halle. It’s amazing to know your family is wrapped in prayers by so many – throughout the whole world. God bless you during this very difficult time. To His glory!
    Stephanie (a friend of Anna’s)

  10. Brad and Stephanie;

We are on our knees praying for you as many times a day as God brings you and your situation to mind. We are supporting you prayerfully every step of the way.

We know what it’s like firsthand being in the hopital for me with my Asthma and having the kids and my husband going between jobs, school, and life activities and it is very drainning so please accept help from those that offer because it is a long road ahead….

We are praying and believing for a full recovery for Stephanie and we have lots of our Friends, neighbors, and Church praying and supporting you too. You never walk alone when you are in the Body of Christ.

Love you all and We will continue praying and believing……

  11. Brad,
I just signed on to check on things, read your latest entry and immediately checked the clock…precisely 5:00pm. Know that we are with you in spirit and prayer at this moment and throughout the day.
    Love, Karen

  12. Oh Lord, our Lord
    How excellent your name is
How excellent your name in all the earth
    Your glory fills the heavens
    Beyond the highest stars
How excellent your name in all the earth

  13. Dear Brad and family,
We are lifting you up to our precious Lord right now, and I know that He will hold you so very close as He has been doing. He is faithful. Thank you for the testimony of your faith as we journey this road with you. In His amazing grip, love the hickey family

  14. Hello. You don’t me, so I don’t know where to start. An old high school friend of mine, Clare, posted the link on her Facebook page and I clicked on it out of curiosity. I rarely do that, and, to boot, Clare and I haven’t really spoken in years.

I had my first seizure on September 26th. It lasted five minutes, and my husband described his feelings as equal parts terror and utter helplessness. I had no idea what happened, feared for my life, and let’s just say deals were made with God in the back of the ambulance that whisked me away. I was stripped of my driver’s license, and have yet to undergo the MRI and EEG necessary to start the process of diagnosis. It all starts tomorrow.

I read your blog and identified very personally with it. Like your wife, I have naturally low blood pressure. My husband and I are also struggling with the loss of my driving privileges and we’re anxious about a recurrence. Unfortunately, we let the inconveniences of my condition trump how blessed I am to have recovered (so far as we know) and how serious we need to regard its potential consequences. I can assure you that your wife’s story will change that.
I don’t believe in coincidences. I believe I was supposed to learn something from this story and apply it to my own life.

I hope the news you are receiving at this moment is good, and I’ve prayed for it to be so. I won’t take any more of your time, except to say thank you for sharing your life to the benefit of others, regardless of how difficult it must be right now.

  15. Joshua 1:9 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be discouraged. Do not be afraid. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers…

  16. I listened to the song you recommend by The Afters called LIGHT UP THE SKY.. and wow.. very powerful.. Id encourage you to listen to Sanctus Real – Lead Me

I found this song very fitting. You have chose to deal with this situation to lead your family with strong hands, and a love for the Lord that is inspiring.

I also found that listening to you talk about your wife, the kids, and our Lord has CONVICTED me to become much more serving and humbled to God’s calling, whatever that calling might be. I have not been brave enough to survive my own marriage, nor venture out and reconnect with people since the war in Iraq. I have NOT leaned on our Lord like I should have. I hate myself for letting this situation be the eye opener.
I am very emotional by nature, and wear my heart on my sleeve, causing myself to feel pain and most times, shut down..

Thank you for setting this example and inspiring.

And if you have not noticed, The outpouring of people who have responded to my facebook page has been OVERWHELMING.. I can tell you this, that this blog is posted and people are reading from all over the world, from my friends in the army who are, again, ALL OVER THE WORLD, in Iraq, Korea, Germany, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Oklahoma, Texas, Kentucky, Tennessee and South Carolina – To all my civilian friends who are all over the map as well.I see this as such a blessing, even within the curse of bad health and what looks to be some negative outcomes.

When I did my daily devotion today, I was hearing the spirit speak to me in a way I have never felt and was lead to the scripture:

    2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will HEAL their land.

And even though its been a few hours, that verse KEEPS pounding on my heart AS IF I have not read it, or God thinks I have not truly heard it the first time. So, as I studied this, I have figured that maybe God is speaking to me with this verse in a much Broader spectrum, that our LAND might not be my specific prayer for Stephanie, but for revival of America itself, from the sin its in bondage to. And with Stephanie’s situation hanging in the balance, TOTALLY IN GODS HANDS, Its caused a ripple effect on me, my friends, and anyone who has known Stephanie. This just might be Gods hand moving, showing us all how fragile life is and HE is using this to make you a stronger man, me a stronger man, and anyone else in this situation stronger, closer and more passionate about HIM.

    Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Be strong and courageous Brad, God is in control!

  17. So touched by what David Levy just wrote. Oh Brad, the LORD is working! We’ve only just begun to understand the tip of how He’s using this! And maybe, just maybe, this is happening to you and not to someone else because you have access to so many people–people who know other people who know other people all around the world. People are being reached because you have such a network of believers that maybe someone else wouldn’t have. And unbelievers are being reached as well.

Don’t you see? God is ALREADY stomping on Satan through all of this. He’s stomping him out by raising up His Christian believers. He’s stomping out Satan by reaching unbelievers. The Gospel is being shared over and over and over and over again.

Praise Him in this storm! Oh Lord, if this pain is what it takes to praise you, oh God, be glorified. We plead for Your mercy. We plead for Your grace. We plead for Your healing. We rest in Your love.
